January 13th 2018 Life is like a Box of Chocolates

Yes I am reviewing one of the most famous movie quotes of all time. For those who don't know this quote, It's from the movie Forrest Gump. This quote has one major flaw but it's still powerful, so let's talk about it.

Before I can tell you the flaw of the quote, I have to first tell you the whole quote. "My mom always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." The major problem with the quote as a whole is that we know whats in a box of chocolates. We just have to flip the box over and read the contents of the box. This is true about life because life has uncertainty but there is one things that's for certain. Just like we know every box of chocolates will have chocolates inside, we all know that we won't live forever. That's what's under the box for us, knowing that we are all mortal.

So is that all there is to this post? Nope, because none of us know what life is going to throw at us. That's how life works, one little decision can change your future. Another thing that this quote teaches us is that there is more chocolates in the box. That means that if life gives you a bad piece of chocolate just grab another. In other words sometimes life sucks but it can get better. As many people say, as long as you are alive then you don't have it bad.
